Our motivation is influenced by two kinds of factors – extrinsic factors like compensation, awards and promotions, and intrinsic rewards – the psychological boost that we get by doing something that we love. Motivated and engaged employees can make all the difference to the success of a business – they delight customers, come up with innovative ideas and inspire fellow team members. Conversely, demotivated employees can drive valuable customers and talented colleagues away and impact the company’s profitability.
Employee engagement cannot be boosted purely by relying on extrinsic factors like increasing compensation or handing out promotions. Employers must used a balanced approach towards boosting employee engagement that includes both extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Boosting extrinsic factors is relatively well understood, but how can leaders boost intrinsic motivation? How can leaders inspire team members to go that extra mile?
THE WORKPLACE ENGAGEMENT PROFILE (WEP)
The Work Engagement Profile assessment measures four intrinsic rewards: meaningfulness, choice, competence, and progress and helps provides(should be “provide” not “provides”) actionable insights to increase the level of those rewards for each individual. When complemented with training and coaching, the Work Engagement Profile can increase employee satisfaction, customer delight, organizational innovation and profitability.
The workshop is offered in on-site as well as on-line formats.
